Apple: Court Pendu Plat
Court Pendu Plat (Unknown)
This variety originated in Europe. It was first described in about 1613 but believed to be much older than this. It was also called 'Wise Apple' because it flowers late and escapes spring frost damage. Fruits have very firm, fine-textured, juicy flesh which is sweet with a pleasant, slightly aromatic flavour.
Apple: Cravert
Cravert (01-Jan.)
A chance seedling discovered in about 1870 or earlier, either in a field of the Depigny family or in the forest of Allogny, France. Fruits have firm flesh with a sweet flavour.
Apple: Croft Late
Croft Late (31-Jan.)
From Croft, Leicestershire; a very late seedling found outside the old quarry gates. Small, red-blushed apples which hang very late on the tree (sometimes late Jan), retaining a wonderful crunchy texture (with some astringency) until mid-March or even later. In 2009 some of them lasted, still good, into June. The flavour is Cox-type, though a bit more astringent, but the texture, juiciness and keeping quality make up for it. This is an excellent apple; good for growing in a pot and picking fresh on Christmas morning.
Apple: Cross Gate
Cross Gate (31-Jan.)
Yellow, smooth, med size, smooth, rd-conical. Flavour nearly gone by mid Feb - but some acidity. Perhaps a bit cidery.
Apple: Curl Tail
Curl Tail (01-Dec.)
Originated from Surrey, England. First recorded in 1872. Fruits have soft, coarse-textured, dry flesh with a subacid flavour.
Apple: Dalice
Dalice (01-Jan.)
Raised between 1933 and 1937 by A.C. Nash, Scutes Farm, Hastings, Sussex. Fruits have coarse, soft, dry flesh with a subacid to sweet, insipid flavour.

Daliest (01-Dec.)
A more highly coloured clone of Elstar. Fruits are sweet, crisp and juicy with a good flavour.
Apple: Damore
Damore (06-Jan.)
Pleasant, easy-eating apple with a mild lemony taste. Similar in many ways to Golden Delicious - which is probably the female parent.

A yellow green foundling.
