A more highly coloured sport of Jonathan. It was discovered in 1930 by William Uecher at Peshastin, Washington,USA and introduced in 1934. Fruits have soft, fine-textured, fairly juicy flesh with a sweet and faintly pleasant flavour.
A foundling discovered growing beside a road in Shropshire. Yellow apple with some mottling - usually stays on the tree well into January. Golden Delicious is probably the female parent.
