Apple: Mutsu
Triploid. Raised in Japan in 1930 and first fruited in 1939. It was named 'Mutsu' in 1948 but renamed 'Crispin' in the UK for commercial reasons in 1968. Fruits have firm, fine-textured, juicy flesh which is a little sweet, somewhat acid with a refreshing, and pleasant flavour.
